Hello everyone

We are planning to replace our 20-year-old oil heating system soon.

We are leaning toward a heat pump for our semi-detached house
(ground source or air-to-water still uncertain),
possibly combined with solar panels on the roof for domestic hot water. Everything will depend somewhat on feasibility and costs.

Can anyone recommend a heating company they have had good experiences with? (We are located in the Zurich area)

Thanks in advance
Best regards
Thomas

Hello Hertweck,

The idea of involving an engineer is quite interesting.

Regarding site conditions and user requirements, I had actually assumed that the seller's (heating) company would check these.

I will keep an eye on this and refer to it as needed.

Thanks and best regards,
Thomas

PS: Can anyone recommend an installer or heating technician in the Zurich area? ... if so, thanks.

Hello again,

The sellers of heat pump systems naturally want to make a sale – the engineer wants to design, and the outcome of the design is important both for them and for you.

It is also clear that the fee for an engineer increases the overall cost. Just take a critical look at the quotes and ask the supplier or contractor if anything is unclear.
