Hello,
Some time ago, I hired a professional flooring company to fully glue down engineered wide plank flooring over an area of 90m² (970 sq ft). After a short time, I noticed that the flooring was uneven and the baseboards were installed very poorly. One uneven spot was repaired since it was outside the usual tolerance. The baseboards were also replaced.
For the job, I paid approximately €7,500 and an additional €500 for the baseboards. I paid around €7,000 for the wide plank flooring itself. Altogether, I am at about €15,000.
What bothers me about the whole matter is that I expected a neat and clean job, but there are several unsightly spots. Even after the uneven area was repaired and the baseboards replaced, I keep finding new imperfections. Almost all rooms have unevenness, though still within acceptable tolerance.
What do you think about the quality of the work?
What do you think about the door frames? Are they acceptable as they are?
How would you recommend I proceed (warranty period), or do you consider the result to be okay?
Thank you very much for answering my questions.

It just looks bad. The floorboards are very nice, but the connection to the wall and door frames is extremely sloppy.

Was this a reputable company? If so, I would ask to speak with the manager – $15,000 for 90m² (970 ft²) – in @11ant’s words, that means "privately insured" – they shouldn’t let the apprentice handle the installation…

In your opinion, how should I proceed (warranty period), or do you think the result is acceptable? So, you had a "professional company" (not a protected term!) install material that you provided yourself (keyword: "upcoming trade"), you reported installation defects promptly and had some of them partially fixed. Now, near the end of the warranty period, you are considering reporting additional defects (which were not newly caused in the meantime). This will likely be a case for a lawyer (who will probably start by scolding you). I would describe the quality of the work as a "damage pattern."

You’re misquoting me. The material may be of private insurance quality, but that does not automatically mean, without a separate agreement, that the contractor’s owner must personally carry out the work (who, by the way, also seems to be acting as a subcontractor for a butcher’s shop here).

Hello schubert79, hello Gerddieter,
thank you for your response.
I am very disappointed with this company.
At the time, I could not imagine that a professional contractor from Karlsruhe would provide such poor quality work.
I have already complained twice about the baseboards (which looked even worse before).
The result you see in the pictures is attempt number three.
The manager himself only sent his employees, who honestly did not seem very capable to me.
The uneven area in the last photo was repaired rather reluctantly. I kept telling them that the unevenness was in the middle. In the end, I was told that this spot now meets DIN standards and that it was considered finished.
For the baseboards, they even charged me again, but I agreed because they wanted to fix the damaged parts.

Hello 11ant,
thank you for your reply.
Yes, unfortunately, it is just as you described.
When the trade was completed back then, I was unfortunately very busy with many other things.
About the company:
The owner runs a training company and also works for well-known businesses in the area.
