Hello everyone,
I have a question for the community that perhaps some of you have already answered for yourselves: Has anyone used the Ikea Kallax shelf as a hi-fi rack?
I’m especially interested in how the shelf performs in terms of stability and sound neutrality, as I plan to place my amplifier, turntable, and other components there. Any experiences with vibrations, air circulation, or cable management would be very helpful.
Additionally, I would like to know if you have tried any extra measures like damping mats or specialized feet to optimize the Kallax for hi-fi purposes.
Looking forward to your opinions and tips!

And neat cable management really makes the Ikea gem stand out as well. 🙂

One small tip: If you place the Kallax on a hard floor, make sure to use rubber feet under the shelf. This prevents the transfer of vibrations to and from the floor.
From a technical perspective, any measures taken against vibrations and resonances are beneficial, especially for sensitive equipment like turntables.
