Hello everyone,
We are currently planning to install floor tiles (gray/"moon" porcelain stoneware with a subtle concrete look) on the walls as well, at least in the guest bathroom. We have two questions and would appreciate your opinions:
- The floor tiles will be 60x60cm (24x24 inches). Should the wall tiles be 30x60cm (12x24 inches) or also 60x60cm (24x24 inches)?
- The default grout color is silver gray for the walls and cement gray for the floor. Is this common practice even when using the same tiles (as we have been told), or do people usually use the same grout color for both? If so, which one? Should it be darker or lighter than the tile?
Thanks and best regards

For what purpose? For the baseboard or for the grout lines?
Here, it’s done according to the customer’s preference. My tile installer sets the baseboard height at 7cm (3 inches). We wanted 6cm (2.4 inches). He had customers who wanted 10cm (4 inches).
Grout lines vary depending on the tile. For rectified tiles, 2–3mm (0.08–0.12 inches) is typical and also the minimum. No, I meant for 60cm by 60cm (24 inches by 24 inches) floor tiles. Would you use 60cm by 60cm (24 inches by 24 inches) tiles on the wall as well, or rather 30cm by 60cm (12 inches by 24 inches)?

We have concrete-effect tiles on the bathroom floor and walls. We chose the grout color ourselves and had the floor and walls grouted with the same color, because in my opinion it doesn’t look as good otherwise (with the same tiles).
Best regards,
Sabine How new is that for you? In our case, the floor grout has darkened slightly after 1.5 years. But it’s not really bothersome.
