Hello,

this system is being offered in a new housing development by a property developer in our region. Heating and preheating of the water to about 40°C (104°F) are done through central brine heat pump stations. The further temperature increase of the water is carried out by decentralized electronic instantaneous water heaters in the individual houses. My initial online research suggests that this system seems quite efficient since the brine heat pumps can operate in an efficient range and the remaining temperature increase happens locally.

Does anyone here have experience with such a system?

No, but in our storage tank, the water is only heated to 48°C (118°F) and then withdrawn via a plate heat exchanger. I don’t believe there is significant potential for savings with 40°C (104°F) plus an instantaneous water heater.
