Hello everyone,
We recently visited the construction site of our general contractor. The house had gray windows on the outside, and my husband was immediately impressed.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we had to wait a bit before entering the house, and that’s when I noticed that the window handles were white. Then I looked at the windows from the inside – also white. I didn’t like that. For me, both the outside and inside being gray would not be an option.
It seems like almost every new build has gray windows these days. Is gray the new white now, or just a trend, and will the classic white windows make a comeback?
I like white, my husband prefers gray...
What did you decide on?

According to my forecast, red roofs will make a comeback from 2025The trend might not materialize. The rise of heat pumps is also driving the growing use of photovoltaic systems, which simply suit dark roofs better than red ones. History repeats itself, but there are also game changers.

In the end, it's a matter of personal taste. It would have bothered us.If you consciously choose anthracite—whether inside or outside—then you probably like it. Let's assume that. And then it's perfectly fine if you can see it whether the door is open or closed. But to each their own—it doesn't have to appeal to everyone.

History repeats itself, but there are also game changers. Of course, it might not happen. Photovoltaics do actually look better on dark roofs, but only the panels without thick aluminum frames. Otherwise, it looks just as bad. But is that really a decisive argument against a red roof? For me, it isn’t—I also have a red roof, and eventually, photovoltaics will go on it.
