Häuslebauer364 May 2026 12:17Hello everyone,
I have a question. We have a staggered semi-detached house. Our exterior wall is located on the property boundary with the neighbor. The neighbor now wants to place a strip of gravel directly next to our exterior wall. On this gravel strip, a planter trough (presumably with drainage holes) is planned to be placed. The distance between the planter trough and the house wall is 5 cm (2 inches). Smaller plants are intended to grow in the trough.
My question:
Is this okay, or can water draining from the planter trough cause damage to the house wall?
Construction details:
No basement, black coating on the foundation slab up to and including the second course of bricks, then plaster and a membrane drainage board in front.
Thank you very much and best regards
