Hello
I want to cover my climate-controlled cellar (about 20m² (215 sq ft)) with granite tiles (30.5 x 30.5 x 1cm (12 x 12 x 0.4 inches)).
The slab = concrete floor is relatively level. Maximum unevenness is 5mm (0.2 inches).
Can I glue the tiles directly onto the concrete using flexible adhesive, or do I definitely need to use a leveling compound? I want to avoid the cost of leveling compound if it’s not absolutely necessary.
What do the experts say?
Steven

Certainly, but then you can’t avoid using leveling compound, and it’s not as simple as you might think.I don’t find it easy either.
We used leveling compound ourselves back then and actually moved the compound once or twice in the tub, which caused a slight bump that we had to sand down again.
But with 20m² (215 sq ft), it would probably work better.
As an amateur, I wouldn’t attempt it without.
