Hello everyone,

first post here, we are about to start building a house.

We are using a mix of general contractor and individual contracts. The master builder will coordinate the trades he knows. That works for us and hopefully goes smoothly.

Unlike a full general contractor contract, this approach presents the same selection challenges as working with an architect (i.e., individual contracts).

Windows:

Originally, we wanted wood/aluminum windows with a wood finish. We were offered German windows from a supplier I had never heard of before, and there is hardly any information available online—no prices, no catalogs, nothing!

How would you rate their quality? Compared to Bayerwald, Internorm, Gaulhofer, and so on?

We are currently leaning toward solid wood anyway, as fake wood isn’t really our style. This means, unfortunately, Internorm would be out.

Another requirement: the manufacturer must produce traditional windows (not flush-mounted, etc.) with Vienna bars. Additionally, there must be a front door available in the exact same wood type and color.

Any suggestions? From the catalogs, I am currently leaning toward Gaulhofer.

Greetings from Munich

Manufacturer in the custom, high-end price segment from the Münsterland region. As far as I know, no significant issues.
