autothomas22213 Nov 2011 17:35Hello, we have finally found a plot of land, but unfortunately, there is no gas supply—only district heating. Since nobody knows how long the district heating will be available in our area, I’m considering what to do about the heating system and would like to hear your opinions. The house is planned with a condensing gas wall-mounted boiler combined with a solar energy system, a bivalent 400-liter (105-gallon) storage tank, and three flat-plate collectors. Now I’m basically forced to buy a gas tank, which would have to be buried underground because having such a large tank visible in the garden would probably not be allowed or aesthetically pleasing! What do you think about this? Advantages and disadvantages? I’ve already done some research and would prefer to buy the tank rather than rent it. Or should I completely redesign the heating system and install a different type? The house is 113 m² (1,216 sq ft), and there are two of us. Thanks in advance for your advice.
Hello,
With liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aside from the tank issues, it's important to note that the low modulation range (minimum output) cannot be reached due to the higher energy content. This causes condensing gas boilers running on LPG to cycle on and off particularly frequently and vigorously.
Best regards.
