Good morning,
I just received a steep price increase from my energy provider enercity, raising the cost to 15 cents per kWh starting in August. That’s really tough, and I think prices will rise even further.
It’s a strange feeling to be thrown back so quickly into an energy supply situation where you have to figure out how to keep the house warm. It seems to me that the government has given up on the goal of enabling everyone to adequately cover at least their basic needs.
Goodbye central supply structures; now the winner is whoever has solar panels and a heat pump in their new build, while the others are left out.
Welcome back, coal heating 😕
Frustrated regards,

Hello Steven,
I personally know four families from my closest circle of friends who have emigrated to Paraguay. Hello Knautnaundorf
Thank you for your post.
Obtaining a Paraguayan passport is quite straightforward if you are financially well-off. I am currently working on this.
I love my country and want to stay here.
However, the situation is not unlike that of 1932, and before I experience something similar, I am looking towards Paraguay.
It’s unfortunate, and as has been said: good luck with your chosen government.
Steven
Ah, so it still ends on a happy note.
When you arrive there, you might realize that it has nothing to do with the Third Reich (or the period from 1945 to 1990).
By the way, I find that comparison utterly inappropriate and in poor taste.
Good luck overseas (I mean that sincerely).

At some point, it became clear that those leaving were the ones financially supporting the state and/or contributing to prosperity through their work. History repeats itself.

What would be different with another government, and especially how, would things turn out?
Accusing someone like Habeck of driving Germany into the ground just because he goes against his own personal beliefs to restart coal-fired power plants and has to hold talks with sheikhs seems absurd to me.
Germany is really good at complaining. And when things get tough, even more so. But we actually have quite different qualities that we can remember and rely on. So sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and get through it. Whether everything will turn out great in the end remains to be seen. But it should be clear to everyone that things cannot continue like this forever.
At least I am glad to have been born in Germany and I will stay here.

I find it absurd to blame Habeck for ruining Germany just because he has to restart coal power plants against his personal beliefs and hold talks with sheikhs.
Germany is really good at complaining. And when things get difficult, even more so. But we actually have quite different strengths to remind ourselves of. So just grit your teeth and get through it. Whether it will all turn out great in the end remains to be seen. But it should be clear to everyone that things cannot continue like this forever.
I am at least glad to have been born in Germany and plan to stay here. Quite simply: let NS2 go online. Then Habeck wouldn’t have to act against his convictions. It is undisputed that SOMETHING has to be done. But a government cannot accept, let alone promote, that people have to cope within a few months with their heating costs increasing four to five times and their electricity costs doubling, and that companies go bankrupt because of this. This will lead to millions of human tragedies.
Many people are genuinely afraid because they feel helpless in this situation. I find it quite arrogant to dismiss that as just complaining.
Would you tell a family who is already barely making ends meet to just grit their teeth when they suddenly have to pay 2000 euros (about 2100 US dollars) in back heating costs?
