And just to make it clear even to those stuck on fossil fuels: electricity can be generated easily and cleanly by oneself, gas cannot.

We bought a turnkey house. Nothing was changeable.

Those who want or need division will find reasons everywhere: football, background, dialect, money, cars, houses, heating systems... Tolerating diversity is difficult, and even harder is showing consideration and social behavior. Corona has only made this more apparent.

Sure. In practice, though, it is probably still quite rare for someone to install a gas boiler and set up a small P2G plant in their backyard. 😉

Dividing has become a national pastime. This is not only shown by Corona, but runs through almost every topic (e.g., vegan, vegetarian, omnivorous diets, diesel or electric engines, solar panels with or without battery storage, right or left Twix…).
Do people tend to become dogmatic in times of uncertainty?
Dogmatic people feel existentially threatened when something challenges their dogma. Perhaps this is a partial mechanism that promotes increasing division.
