You come back from vacation and receive an email about a gas price increase.
A quick look: the consumption price has doubled, and the base price is 25% higher.
And you, who also have a gas heating system?
@Nordlys I know… but who else?

About a month ago, I wanted to switch both electricity tariffs… it’s not that simple at the moment 🙂 The usual comparison websites now provide only a fraction of the results, and none are cheaper than the local energy provider. However, in the end, I managed to find some good options outside of these platforms.

We have a tank in the garden, and the supplier is fixed. We currently buy the gas every 1.5 years (18 months). In spring, I thought I’d wait until the price dropped again. About a month ago, I finally placed an order. Since then, the price has increased by another 12 cents per liter. Just in time. However, we still paid more than double compared to last year.

This is just insane!

I signed my contract in February with a 2-year fixed price. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if I still end up with an increase through some loopholes...

Not bad. The price increase confirms my decision to integrate a ground-source heat pump into the new building and to support it with a larger photovoltaic system. Yes, in the months when electricity is needed most, the least electricity is produced. But at least some energy is fed in through the photovoltaic system :-) And gas prices will continue to rise only in one direction.
