Hello everyone,

we are planning a new build with a gas heating system and solar panels for domestic hot water. Now we are considering whether to include a water-bearing (hydronic) fireplace as well. How large would the storage tank need to be sized?

New build with 217 sqm (2335 sq ft) living space, 2 full floors, 4 people

For funding in new construction through the BAFA market incentive program, the collector system must have at least 20 m² (215 sq ft).
Wood log stoves remain without funding. For pellet stoves, there is a €2000 grant for a particle filter.

Hello again

I was thinking about the MAP from BAFA.
With KfW, the result—which means KfW 40, 55, etc.—is supported, not the building services technology.
This can help to achieve the target.
Therefore, to my knowledge, the requirements you mentioned do not apply either.
