Hello everyone,
Excluding the house, garage, driveway, and terrace, we will have about 300 sqm (3,230 sq ft) of garden space, mostly lawn, with some perennials and a hedge. From what I understand, a small garden timer that connects directly to the faucet is not sufficient for this; instead, you need an irrigation control system with valve boxes installed underground in the lawn—is that correct?
How do you connect a rainwater cistern with a submersible pressure pump to this system? The hose comes from the cistern, but where does it go from there?
How many power outlets should be planned for this system? Is one outdoor socket enough?
Best regards

Please plan for a refill system for the cistern as well as a larger conduit.Does refill mean a hose from the outdoor faucet to the cistern?
In that case, is the hose from the submersible pump connected directly to the valve box, or is there something else in between?
Thank you!
Gardena is truly top-notch when it comes to control systems. The app and everything else work flawlessly. Especially, the robotic mower runs through it, as well as any connected outlets. I wouldn't rely on Hunter or similar brands for this. The systems are compatible, though—I personally have many sprinklers from Hunter.
Only one from Gardena and only with a gateway.
Hunter Hydrawise controller can do everything Gardena can and more.
Gardena is not bad, but it’s just expensive toy after all.
Install a PE-HD pipe underground right away for refilling.
You can run from the pump directly to the valve box(es).

There are many possible solutions. Gardena can also be satisfactory. However, for a similar price, there are more durable options available.
The control system is secondary at first. What matters most is the correct choice of sprinklers and the proper design of the zones.
