That reminds me, I only know a couple with a high hedge enclosure. They live in the countryside and come from there as well.

@hampshire looks great. I only know permaculture raised beds in round shapes, with compost in the middle and stones on the outside. We’re not fundamentalists. For us, it’s about the joy and challenge of growing good food without using chemicals or depleting the soil. Stone lasts longer than untreated wood. Those 3cm (1 inch) thick beams will hold up for a few years. The compost is placed a bit farther from the house (logistically less convenient but better in terms of odor). We don’t compost organic kitchen waste in the garden; that goes into Bokashi bins where it ferments with Effective Microorganisms (EM).
We already had tasty vegetables growing at our terraced house. We got hooked years ago through the Ackerhelden, where we learned a lot and participated for two years.
