I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Heavy rain is expected here as well. Or rather, I hope we won’t be hit too hard all at once, but steady and “light” rain until the weekend would be very important for nature. Over the past two weeks, a total of only about 45 liters (12 gallons) fell, after several weeks of dryness before that.

Rain? What is that... Nothing... and 10km (6 miles) further, the highway is flooded – all the rain falls on the Teuto and none of it reaches here...

Yes, here at the foot of the Ore Mountains we also have problems with spruce. The cleanup was just completed due to the damage caused by Fabienne last year. A large number of spruces, in addition to the broken timber, had to be removed to help combat the bark beetle, which is thriving because of the water shortage.

Here it was just 5 liters (1.3 gallons)... better than nothing and certainly better than flooding, but we really need a lot of rain...

I was really looking forward to rain, the rain radar looked 100% certain, but what came was: zero. Zero! Karsten

It has been raining continuously here since Monday afternoon. So far, it’s still quite manageable, and nothing has flooded yet. But the commute to work was annoying. Driving 150m (95% motorway) in constant rain—no, I’d even prefer snow over that.
Nature is benefiting from it. We just hope the lawn reseeding at my mother-in-law’s won’t wash away...
