I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Ah… this can’t be Germany… where then? My guess is… Canary Islands?

Southern Spain… right on the coast

My wife lived and worked here for many years.

Can you give me a recommendation? After hopelessly dedicating ourselves to growing kiwis for 7 years, we’re getting rid of them now.
From when can you expect figs to bear fruit? Do you need both male and female plants?

Both male and female flowers are needed here. However, pollination works differently, involving a specific species of wasp. These trees would not produce fruit in Germany.

On Sunday, I spent some more time planting in the garden. The plants had been in pots for a few weeks already, and the butterfly bush was starting to really droop. Today, it seems to be doing better again.

Young tree in mulched bed in front of red brick house with two windows.

Hexagonal planting bed in front of the house: tree, pink hydrangeas, and green-white hostas; orange cat.

Before and after: Our small bed in front of the house, once on May 9 (right after planting) and once on August 15. 🙂

Several potted plants on a paved surface: lavender with purple flowers and green shrubs.

Newly designed garden bed with brick edging, young plants, next to paved path and wheelbarrow.

Blueberry bush with ripe blue fruits in garden, soil and stones in the background.

Small shrub with white flower clusters, pole as support, in garden bed.

All these plants have now been moved into the bed. Freshly planted on the left, the two pictures on the right show them slightly recovered, two days later.

Planted bed with brick border, shrubs, tree seedling, construction wood and materials in the background.

Paved path next to brick-edged bed with roses, lavender; orange cat walking by.

Another before-and-after. The rose tree is really a major win. At first, I was worried it wouldn’t get enough sun there, but it has been blooming really well for months since I planted it. A dream.

We have a new visitor.

Large, white column-shaped mushroom in the ground next to a wooden wall, with a brownish top.

Looks like a stinkhorn mushroom to me.
They’re probably not easy to get rid of.
Annoying, right? Or is it manageable somehow?
