I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Used my day off today to build a fire pit.

Lawn area with a red circle around the post; tools and gloves are lying on a stone wall.

Well-maintained lawn in the garden, bordered by gray stone walls; terrace with a bench behind.

Gray stone ring around an earthen pit in the garden; several children standing nearby.

Circular stone flower bed made of rectangular stones with pebbles on a lawn area.

Rusty fire basket with ashes inside a stone ring, on gravel and grass.

Looks great! I’m planning to do something similar. Question: why did you use a bowl, instead of building the fire pit so you can place the wood directly inside? I would probably build a slightly raised edge and just put a grate on top. That seems most practical to me.

In mid-July, I created a new large strawberry bed and planted it with cold-stored strawberry plants. Since then, the strawberries have grown quite well. Today, I was even able to taste the first red berry 🙂 Next year, the plants will be lush and will cover the wood chip mulch. Unfortunately, the landscaping fabric is necessary because otherwise the weeds would simply take over.

That’s possible too, it’s just a cleaner solution this way.

Figs without end … … … … … … …

Avocados still need some time:

Outdoor veranda with tree in a round stone planter, lounge chairs by the pool, terrace.

The mango is ripe:

Oranges are coming too:

Small citrus tree with dense, glossy leaves and green unripe fruit.

Lemons:

Persimmons still need some time as well:

Olives – endless supply. However, they are inedible straight from the tree.
