I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Hmm, mosquitoes would be quite annoying – and adding dish soap to the water contradicts the purpose of such a small pond. Do you have an alternative idea? A garden without water just doesn’t work, and since my small stream isn’t happening for now, I was thinking of a little setup. Maybe a tiny solar pump, since they don’t work in moving water.

hemali20032 May 2019 16:53What kind of "design features" do you have in your garden?
For example, a pond, herb spiral, any containers, or decorative stakes?
After 1.5 years, we’ve finally landscaped the front yard, but I find it too bare. Ultra-modern styles aren’t really my thing, but many decorative elements seem a bit too tacky or overwhelming to me.
Or have you mainly used plants for your design?
Maybe you have a few photos?

We are just getting started, so everything is still relatively clean. In the larger garden area, we have had a stone surface with a water feature installed right next to the terrace.
Near the front door, there is a soakaway chamber, on whose cover three tree trunk sections of varying heights are now placed (between 40 and 70 cm (16 and 28 inches) high, each approximately 35 cm (14 inches) in diameter). On these trunks, there is a potted ivy and a windbreak made of weathered steel.

I had a few of the stones for the wall specially set aside; they are now in the flower bed and are loved by various insects in the evening sun.
Otherwise, there is only some deadwood (I’m still hoping to get a larger log piece someday) and bird baths/water stations.
Oh, and there are fairies living in the herb bed, with little front doors and garden chairs for them.
Photo to come when the weather improves.
