I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Is there actually a maximum allowable total weight for birdhouses? At the moment, there are 12 starlings sitting in ours 🙄 They’re eating me out of house and home... on the other hand, they’re also helping to aerate the lawn :p

Well, one of our trees fell over during the winter. Due to overcrowding.

Before getting frustrated about tough weeds, take a moment to reflect on gratitude 🙂

I spent several afternoons pulling dandelions back then... now it only takes about 5 minutes.

After our flight to a high-risk area was canceled, I was finally able to start planting. From what I’ve seen, you already began with tomatoes and such back in April?!

This year, I’m trying a mix of cabbage and melons 🙂
The ugly marigolds are supposed to keep the ants away...

Without wanting to step on anyone's toes, I think everyone simply has different tastes and expectations for how they envision their garden.

If the lawn is in top condition, for me it requires less planting around it, as the focus is on the lawn itself. I personally find that very striking and appealing.

Our winter holiday, which was postponed to Pentecost, is cancelled again. It is definitely not a risk area. Starting today, we are officially allowed to travel there. But what can we expect when the hygiene plans for Friday are only released on Wednesday evening? The landlord found it too risky to open on the 21st without clear guidelines, and for us, that was too short notice.

Maintaining a well-kept lawn requires a tremendous amount of work, even with irrigation and a robotic mower. I have no idea why people consider grass to be low-maintenance.

@ypg I guess I’ll have to get some marigolds too. My raised bed and potato tower are swarming with ants. They’re eating my radishes.
