I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Still, I firmly believe that we all need to weigh the alternatives based on cost and benefit. Giving up a house and staying in a smaller apartment with less living area would be a major sacrifice, as it significantly affects one’s lifestyle. No longer taking any flights is also a big sacrifice for many, as it means missing out on experiencing the world. Selling the car and switching to cargo bike or public transit – depending on one’s lifestyle and location – can mean spending many extra hours a day or simply not being feasible.
But does anyone seriously want to claim that giving up toxic chemicals in their own garden and using a weed remover instead is a big sacrifice or personal restriction? Some things have such simple and feasible alternatives that refusing to change is simply incomprehensible.
If we always argue over small changes by saying that nothing matters unless we undertake huge transformations, then we will never make any progress.

I can already see myself installing a tartan floor...I have been watching HGTV for a while now (lately not as often due to too many repeats). I was surprised to see that in the luxury real estate sector, it seems quite common to use artificial grass carpets. With the right investment, it doesn’t look plastic at all. After all, entire sports fields are equipped that way. Maybe this could be an alternative?A

No, even I’m too eco-conscious for that 😉
@rick2018: you can’t really transplant it (yet) because it consists of many individual blades.
@Tolentino
at least saves on irrigation. I don’t know, when I think of artificial turf, I always remember my grandma’s cousin’s dirty artificial grass. Wow, it would get completely soaked in the rain, still wet days later, and the feeling underfoot was just no. It was scratchy.
