I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

The lawn isn’t dying. Apply glyphosate and reseed the next day. Or dig it out.
Or occasionally overseed the remaining lawn with a lighter mix. That way it won’t be noticeable anymore. It’s shocking how openly glyphosate is mentioned here as a valid option.
As if a golf lawn isn’t already a natural wasteland enough—then they spray poison on top of that. 🙄
This is purely about subjective aesthetics for a recreational property. A nice surface for kids to play on and to look at. When farmers try to save their crops by spraying, that’s unpleasant enough nowadays, but at least understandable. But for a patch of lawn? And at the same time promoting heat pumps, electric cars, and solar panels because of environmental protection...
Sorry, had to get that off my chest, of course this is not just about you, @rick2018 Your post was just the proverbial last straw.
No, forget about that quickly. 🤨
High-quality roll-out turf and mixtures sometimes contain supina.
Supina can displace annua. It just requires a lot of nutrients and water.
However, it is also lighter in color, and it takes about 2-3 years for this type of grass to become established on large areas. You will have color differences during that time.
Better to use smaller amounts of fertilizer more often (every 2-4 weeks). In autumn, just do a round of autumn fertilizer.

@Smialbuddler all good. It can also be done without chemicals and usually faster.
However, I can understand anyone who wants a lawn, has invested a lot of money and time into it, and wants to maintain it. As long as there are alternative areas for insects, birds, etc., in the garden, in my opinion, that’s acceptable.
Anyone who wants to be “green” and/or even votes accordingly should not build or own a single-family house 😉 everything else is greenwashing.

Alessandro20 May 2021 13:52So I continue mowing regularly with the robot, water relatively late, and fertilize regularly? Or what exactly should I do? Digging them out is not an option, they are everywhere.
Yes, I would fertilize every 4 weeks with 20-30g per m² (0.65-1 oz per ft²)... I prefer to water only 1-2 times per week, but thoroughly, so the grass grows deeper roots. If it rains, then not at all or even less.
Now I’m switching my robotic mower to level 3 and declaring war on the stuff ^^
