I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.

My Katzingers didn’t move with us. They stayed with my parents.
No other cats are allowed on the property—except when the neighbor doesn’t feed theirs again. The hungry lady is sometimes allowed. The Katzingers also make their messes obediently behind the house on the lawn—garden free of droppings.
My parents’ garden has ants everywhere, but the sandbox is clean.
I’m trying, and that’s it. There are hardly any cats where we live, and the ants will probably come too, like thistles out of nowhere.

The perennials all seem to be fine at the moment, and the perennial bed is located directly in front of the hedge. The presence of voles is currently just a suspicion. I’ll find out when I dig up the damaged hedge plants.
New plants will be delivered on Thursday. They come in containers so they can still establish properly before planting. Unfortunately, this is much more expensive compared to bare-root plants.
But sometimes you just have to accept the cost.
I definitely won’t chase away the overweight cat from the neighbor. Maybe despite its weight, it still manages to catch a vole or two.
