I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I don’t have any photos yet, but I visited a nursery/garden landscaping business near us. You can schedule an appointment where an employee reviews the site plan with you, discusses your wishes/ideas/possibilities, and creates a hand-drawn garden design. I paid 130€ and received a scaled plan showing all paving/patio/bed areas and all the planned plants. Naturally, the company prefers if you have everything done through them, or at least buy the plants from them. That’s why a detailed offer was included, but since the garden will be realized over several years, so far I’ve only purchased plants for two beds there. If I had hired the company to do the garden, the 130€ fee would have been waived. It was worth the money to me, and I’m really happy to have a plan to guide me along the way.
Get some plants. There are still some undeveloped plots where everything grows wild. Spot the treasures! Wild daisies—dig them up, replant them, quick as a flash. Or there was a small tree growing there, in my opinion a European beech. Now it’s growing on our property line; the neighbor agrees. If it’s a beech, our kids will have a stately tree there someday. So, keep your eyes open—the treasures are just lying around. K.
Thank you very much for your answers and the various tips.
Landscapers are not an option for us, so we cannot ask them.
Planning for the terrace and driveway is already completed.
Otherwise, we will first plant what is necessary, and with the area being 1600 m² (17,222 sq ft), I think we mainly need to be careful not to make it too labor-intensive. And of course, we need to make sure not to plant anything toxic for the cats.

We have 1200 sq m (12,917 sq ft) with a steep slope.
This can only be done in stages.
Let it grow.
A garden is always work.
Natural-style gardens, prairie gardens, wildflower meadows, and cottage gardens (the romantically idealized flower section) seem to require relatively little work—at least once the first few years are over.
I need 150 sq m (1,615 sq ft) more. I picked up a cottage garden book on Friday. It showed a vegetable garden designed like a park from the 1800s, with trellises made of beans, cucumbers, and so on.
