ᐅ Garden gate: Is it possible to retrofit an electric door opener?

Rosema7Hello,
I’m posting this here; maybe it also fits under the category “Building Services”?
We had a garden gate installed with a fixed knob (inside/outside).
Now we would like to retrofit the garden gate with an electric door opener (battery-powered).
When someone rings the bell (on the mailbox post next to the garden gate), it should be possible to open the gate with a remote control.
Is such a retrofit possible?
Thank you very much!

For example, Hörmann offers battery-powered operators with remote control. However, I would definitely recommend adding an additional solar panel. Otherwise, you will have to take the battery for charging every few months.
It weighs about 8 kg (17.6 lbs).
As I understand it, you want to open the garage with the remote control when someone rings the doorbell?
That is definitely possible.

Hello Rick,
thank you for your reply.
No, we want to open the garden gate / garden door (not the garage)
when the doorbell rings,
using a wireless system while standing at the front door.
And this device built into the latch would then need to be battery-powered at the garden door, since there is no electrical connection.
No problem if this is not possible. We originally planned it without an automatic door opener at the garden door because it simply doesn’t make much sense to open the garden gate with a door opener from near the front door, and we don’t like the idea of having such an automatic door opener / intercom system in a detached house.
But sometimes (actually not often) it would be ideal. That’s why we had this idea and question about whether it can be retrofitted.
Otherwise, we will solve it differently and make the latch movable on both sides,
so that the garden gate can be opened both ways (without a handle).
And if we don’t want it to open or want to lock it, then we simply close the bolt.
Thank you very much!

Hello Rick,
I just took a look at the Hörmann ... part.
I think we are talking past each other.
It’s about a small garden gate.
When someone rings outside the gate, I want to remotely activate the latch (at the gate lock) by radio control so it buzzes.
That way, guests only need to push the gate and can walk through.
