we have a garden gate in our fence.
We want the gate to always be openable from the inside, but the outside knob should be fixed so the door cannot be opened from there.
The garden gate will not be locked, just closed, and will have an electric opener for an ekey fingerprint system.
I have a question for you (probably easy for most to answer) but unfortunately, I’m a bit confused.
We have a standard lock with handles on both sides that operate an 8mm square spindle.
We want to have a fixed knob on the outside that cannot be turned, and on the inside either a handle or a turnable knob (we don’t mind inside).
How can we achieve this so that the outside knob cannot open the door?
What should we consider and buy?
Thank you very much for your help.

Our garden gate came with a standard door handle set featuring two levers. Instead, just buy a handle set with a lever and a knob and replace it.
edit: If you’re not exactly sure what you need, try removing the levers and see what needs to be changed. The system isn’t really complicated. You can easily understand it by taking a close look.

We have 2 screws at the top and bottom plus a square spindle from the handle and the lock.
How do I find the matching fitting?
I often only find fittings with 3 screws.

Gooosee1594 Sep 2024 09:16@Nida35a That could also be a solution, but in our case, you can’t reach through the gate, so we can do it with the handle.
Could you possibly tell me how we can do this in the best way:
Inside handle – when you press it, the gate opens
Outside knob fixed so the door cannot be opened.

Unscrew the outer cover and attach a new one with a fixed knob.

This is like a game of telephone.
One person thinks something, writes it down, another reads it and thinks something too.
What are the chances that we’re thinking the same thing? Just kidding.
