Hello everyone,

I need your help. I want to get a storage box for our four 240-liter (63-gallon) trash bins. Unfortunately, there is quite a large selection of manufacturers. I am considering the following entry-level models: Westmann €870 (without locking function and without reinforcement plate on the door), Metzler with a voucher €1080 (lockable with reinforcement), Mbox24 €1080 (with reinforcement, not lockable), Bio Stefan €1350 (lockable with reinforcement). Now, I am wondering if the Westmann model is good enough in terms of quality? I would have chosen the Metzler box, but two buyers complained that the 240-liter (63-gallon) bins don’t fit well inside. I find the Bio Stefan option very expensive. Maybe you can help me make a decision or share your experiences.

Thanks a lot.

A few years ago, we bought a Biohort outdoor storage box made of metal from a rather expensive supplier and were somewhat disappointed with it.
When I look at these kinds of trash bins and imagine they’re supposed to last for many years, with hinges and lids working the same way, I have my doubts that you’ll really enjoy it.
I built a similar box myself using wooden beams and simple boards running horizontally on the sides, without a door, and painted it gray; it looks neat.
I don’t see why I would spend so much money on a waste bin enclosure only to end up with something rather flimsy that doesn’t look better than a very cheap DIY version.
In this price range (material thickness), in my opinion, the differences won’t be very significant in the long run.
