Hello,

which roofing material is more suitable for a garage? The same tiles as on the house or trapezoidal metal sheets?

We have the following considerations, although we are not sure if this can be generalized:

Trapezoidal metal sheets are significantly cheaper.
But they can be noisy during rain and hail.
Visually, they look less refined.

Roof tiles appear more elegant and are more durable.
But they are more expensive.

Are there other factors to consider?
What would you choose?

Thank you for your opinions!

This is a comparison of apples and oranges: clay tiles or concrete roof tiles are more suitable for pitched roofs, while flat roofs are better served with metal roofing. Carports usually do not have tiled roofs, and whether the carport is walled or not does not make the rain any louder.

Just as an aside: what kind of house is supposed to stand next to it?

Thank you for your reply!

The single-family house has a gable roof, and the double garage will also have a gable roof. The garage and the house are therefore not connected.

The garage/carport roof was now covered without consultation using the same roof tiles as the house. However, we are not upset about that.
Due to the increased weight, an additional support pillar had to be installed afterwards.
All of this was done without any extra charge. According to the building specifications, trapezoidal metal sheeting was originally planned.
