Bauherr_087715 Aug 2018 19:30Hello,
Our house dates back to 1962, and the garage roof expands slightly due to heat from the sun in summer. This causes cracks in the walls and prevents us from plastering the walls.
I want to protect the roof from the heat (sun) and am looking for ideas.
Currently, I am considering two options: either protecting it with gravel or, more complex and expensive, with a green roof for the garage.
Does anyone have other ideas or experience with these two options?
At the moment, the roof is sealed with roofing felt.
Thank you very much

Even for our green roof garage with a wooden beam ceiling, both the structure and the slope (4%) have been reinforced.May I ask about the material thicknesses?

May I ask about the material thicknesses? Beams are 28cm (11 inches) high x 10cm (4 inches) wide, plus additional sloping layers on top, for a size of 9 x 6 meters (30 x 20 feet).
The beams were also spaced closer together.

we will use extensive green roofing with sedum and a few grasses, and we have a reinforced concrete slab...Are you doing it yourselves or hiring someone? Due to our development plan, our garage must also have green roofing. It looked so easy on YouTube. But the garage supplier charges 800-900 € for a single garage.
