we are currently planning our house and garage on the plot we purchased.
Our house will have a red brick facade, and a double garage (6 x 6 m) (20 x 20 ft) will be located next to it in the corner of the plot, along two neighboring property lines.
I heard that a masonry garage tends to be significantly more expensive than steel sheet garages. Since I have already seen a red plastered steel sheet garage, we decided to choose this option. We want to create a passageway between the garage and the house. This would have two advantages: you could walk from the main entrance of the house to the back door of the garage on the other side at any time, and the plastered garage would not clash visually with the brick facade of the house. Placing the garage directly against the house would probably be less suitable. The garage side corresponds to the eaves side of the house. The garage would adjoin the house along approximately 2 meters (6.5 ft).
What width would you recommend for the passageway between the garage and the house? Is 1 meter (3.3 ft) too narrow?
Should we consider installing a gate?
