Hello everyone,

I am still thinking about the garage.

For the floor covering, I was considering an epoxy resin coating instead of tiles.

Does a screed need to be applied on the concrete slab before the coating, or what would be the ideal floor build-up in this case?

The garage will not be heated, so insulation of the concrete slab or the roof should not be necessary, right, or am I mistaken? Does a frost protection system need to be installed, and if so, what would you recommend?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Steffen

No frost protection, no roof insulation. The foundation requires a frost skirt.

With epoxy resin coating, you don’t need a screed in the garage. However, the concrete floor should be poured with a slight slope and must be cleaned or ground before the coating.

It's too late to create a slope with concrete. The foundation slab has already been poured.

A frost skirt is installed.

So, should we go with a screed then?

Thank you.

Well, it would still be possible, but then you run the risk of water puddles in the garage. I think, in that case, I would install a screed floor.

How would you construct the roof?

With a breathable membrane (which sd-value?) or with a solid sheathing and a bitumen waterproofing membrane?

For the roof covering, trapezoidal metal sheets or Prefa panels are planned (probably trapezoidal sheets since they are more cost-effective).

How would you best approach this?

As roofing material, trapezoidal metal sheets or Prefa panels are planned (more likely trapezoidal sheets due to cost).

How would you implement this best?

No one has an opinion on the roof structure?

How should the whole thing be done for an uninsulated garage?
