ᐅ Galant Mobile Pedestal IKEA, Side Panel Attachment

Hello!

Today, I confidently assembled the first of five roll containers from the Galant series. Everything went smoothly until I screwed these two gray parts onto the right sides of the drawers as instructed. After that, the drawers would no longer close. What is the purpose of these gray pieces?

Also, the narrow top drawer wouldn’t close after I attached the two small silver parts to the sides. If I leave those parts off, the drawers close perfectly.

Am I doing something wrong?

The lock is also somehow completely off.

Does anyone have any advice?

I am not familiar with the container, but based on the instructions, I think the gray parts are responsible for controlling the locking mechanism. Only one drawer should be able to be pulled out at a time to prevent the unit from tipping forward. Take a close look at the mechanism. On the inside, there is a strip that can be moved up and down. Try fiddling with it and consider how the drawers are locked and released.
I can't say much more than that.
When describing the problem, it is helpful to refer to the assembly instructions with specific steps and part numbers.

Could this be related to the lock?

Without an exact page reference from the manual, we can’t really help you. I think it has something to do with the lock. Try opening the lock, and then the drawer should close properly again.

Or was there another issue???
