Hello everyone!
We are building a two-story house with a gable roof with a 25-degree pitch:

Plans: Architect (Ingelheim)
Would you leave the gable completely open? This would result in a ceiling height of 4.18 m (13.7 ft) in the center of the house up to the bottom edge of the ridge beam.
Or would you install a ceiling? If so, at what height?
Do any of you have a similar attic roof and can share your experiences?
Best regards

I don’t have a good photo showing a room including the ceiling at the moment. But looking up in the hallway shows our ceiling:

And a picture of the bathroom:

We’re glad we left the attic open, even though we have a 35° roof pitch and a ridge beam 3.6m (12 feet) high. It really makes the rooms feel much larger.

I prefer high ceilings as well.
In my case, I completely removed the second floor in half of the house. Now, from the floor up to the ridge, it’s about 4.5 meters (15 feet). This area will be used as the living and dining rooms. The kitchen is below, with a ceiling again. Upstairs there will be a gallery.

I would be very grateful for photos of an open roof ridge. Our house plan also includes a knee wall at 2.40 meters (7 ft 10 in) and a height on the upper floor of 4.20 meters (13 ft 9 in) up to the roof ridge. In addition, there is an open space in the stairwell of about 7 meters (23 ft). I’m concerned that this might all be too high.
