Hello,
we are new here and planning to buy a kitchen.
While reading through the forum, we noticed that the fridge-freezer combinations are not praised very much.
We are planning to get a Frostig CB 602.
It would be great if someone could share their experience with this appliance.
Thanks and goodbye.

Hello,
unfortunately, I only saw your email today; maybe you have already bought the refrigerator by now... I don’t want to spoil your fun, but I’m not very impressed. Let me briefly explain:
I noticed with the FROSTIG CB 602 W that, firstly, at setting 1 it cools extremely strongly, but especially that it runs constantly (it turns on more or less every 20 minutes and then cools for 10 minutes).
I tried several times to contact Whirlpool, and finally a technician came, measured the temperature of the fridge and freezer compartments, and found everything to be normal. He said it is an AUTOMATIC refrigerator, not digital, so it switches on as soon as the frost on the back wall turns into water droplets, which happens about every 20 minutes, regardless of how much is inside the fridge... As I said, for me it’s quite annoying, the device is actually running all the time!
Honestly, I don’t know if this is the same with other models, and I would be glad if an expert could give some advice on this. The constant switching on irritates me a lot, and if I had known, I would have looked for a different model (maybe a smaller refrigerator)...

Thanks for your advice and opinions.

Hello Stefan60,
thank you for your reply. Although late, it’s still not too late.
We are still in the process of renovating. Now we have made the decision to give up on that fancy piece and keep our fridge-freezer unit. It’s not that bad yet. Besides, we will save around 550€.
So, best regards and thanks again, Wolf

Great, I’m really happy for you as well, because as you probably read with "mikae," this device is a nightmare. I don’t know if it’s possible or useful to contact Ikea about this, since it’s definitely not good publicity... maybe I’ll find a contact address and report it.

I’m really stressed, and just thinking about having to deal with this for probably a long time really puts me off.

All the best to you

Stefan
