Hello everyone,
we are currently in the process of finalizing the design for our front garden.
The right side is a bit tricky, as you can see in the pictures, there is a slope from the front door down to the right corner of the house. We would actually like to have a flower bed there, similar to the one on the left side. Now the question is, how should we retain the soil on the right? Would you build a concrete block wall? A railing would then need to be installed on top of the wall.

Things aren’t looking very ideal…
We’re a bit unsure at the moment.

One of the pictures shows the suggestion from our excavator operator.
Greetings and thanks

If going through the bank is an option, you could also cover the light well with gabions and place some boards on top to make a bench. Neighbors have done this and it’s great for sitting while the kids play in the shared street.

Not a bad idea.
The well hardly lets any light into the room downstairs anyway.
