Hello, I need your advice.
We are building a relatively wide bungalow (23.3 m (76.4 ft)) and I want to have a nice, large front door in the middle. The opening for the door including the sidelights is 2.52 m (8.3 ft) wide and 2.30 m (7.5 ft) high.
Now I would like to ask what ratio you would use for the front door to sidelights?
Please feel free to also post examples of wider doors with two sidelights and include the dimensions.
I am thinking of making the sidelights 67 cm (26 inches) wide because on both sides of the door there are bathrooms that have a 67 cm (26 inches) wide window facing the door. However, the front door should stand out, not the sidelights.
Thanks

[...] I’m considering making the side panels 67 cm (26 inches) wide because there are bathrooms on both sides of the front door, each with a 67 cm (26 inches) wide window facing the door. Well, then you can roughly do it like that, it fits. I would choose a front door width of 110 cm (43 inches) including its frame; that leaves 69.5 cm (27 inches) for each side panel (based on construction as planned and overall 3 cm (1¼ inches) smaller than the rough opening). Hopefully, you don’t seriously need photos to believe that the difference between 67 and 69.5 cm (26 and 27 inches) is not noticeable ;-)
