Hello,
I am currently working on the electrical installation for our new build. All cables and conduits are installed except for the front door.

What would be the optimal position for a conduit (or an in-wall box) with wiring for a motorized lock and fingerprint scanner? Directly in the door jamb at lock height? Or on the inside wall in a corner about 15cm (6 inches) away from the door? I have already researched but didn’t find anything conclusive.

Thanks,

In our case, it was done like this, see photos. We were told that the height of the box doesn’t matter; it just needs to be on the same side where it is now.

Renovation area: interior door installed, cable on the wall, tools on the floor.

Bright entrance area with boxes, vacuum cleaner, and coat hanging on the door handle.

The cable runs from the door leaf at the hinges into the frame. The door installer could route the cable to any desired position within it. Just ask.
