Hello everyone!
For my planned single-family house, I am looking for a front door manufacturer that installs motorized locks directly from the factory—ideally ones from Fuhr. Since I need to be very budget-conscious, a uPVC door would be best. As some of you have already installed motorized locks, I am hoping to get constructive advice from you because it is quite difficult to find information online.
Best regards,
Enrico

I am building a single-family house and just want to keep up with the times a little!
The debate about whether it makes sense or not, or the supposed conflict between wanting to save money and still wanting to afford one thing or another, is actually pointless.
On one hand, everyone sets their priorities differently, and that’s perfectly fine.
On the other hand, even with certain demands for functionality, it is understandable to also want to keep an eye on the cost.
For example, I drive a well-equipped Skoda Octavia, for which I would probably have paid around 20,000 euros more if I had chosen an Audi with the same features. Given my budget, I am completely happy with this "compromise." I had a similar approach in mind for the house.
@merlin83 The Inotherm website does indeed look very interesting! But am I reading correctly that they do not install a motorized lock, but rather an electric door opener?

Knallkörper19 Aug 2017 11:30We have a Kompotherm door with a Fuhr motor lock. I can’t tell you the additional cost; the entire door was a bit over 6,000. The set with the handle, integrated fingerprint reader, and motor lock accounted for 1,900 of that, at least on paper.

The debate about whether it makes sense or not, or the supposed imbalance between wanting to save money versus still wanting to afford certain things, is actually pointless.
On the one hand, everyone sets their priorities differently, and that’s perfectly fine.
On the other hand, despite certain expectations regarding functionality, it is still reasonable to consider the price.
For example, I drive a well-equipped Skoda Octavia, for which I would certainly have paid about 20,000 Euros more if it were an Audi with the same equipment. With the budget I had, I am very satisfied with this "compromise." That was the general idea I had for the house as well.
@merlin83 The Inotherm site does indeed look very interesting! But am I reading it correctly that they don’t install a motorized lock, but rather an electric door opener? No, that is not correct. They install a fully functional motorized lock that fully secures the door every time it is closed. When opened mechanically, it is then completely unlocked again.
Our fingerprint reader is integrated into the handle. If you don’t like the door as shown in the standard models, they make almost any modifications upon request.
Attached is a photo of our door, which cost a total of EUR 5,400 (powder-coated in DB703).

On the contrary, the self-locking locks I know are all mechanical; the so-called electric strike is only added when a motorized function is desired.
However, there are also fully motorized locks.
Regarding comparing door prices, this only works for doors that are exactly the same size with identical features; anything else is like showing pictures of different cars and listing prices alongside them.

But I’m not talking about doors that simply close mechanically. I’m referring to a door where a motor electromechanically locks it every time. In the picture, you can see that it is a door with a side panel. Anyone can see that the door is not 4 meters (13 feet) high and wide – a 10 cm (4 inches) difference doesn’t significantly affect the price.
