Hello everyone!

For my planned single-family house, I am looking for a front door manufacturer that installs motorized locks directly from the factory—ideally ones from Fuhr. Since I need to be very budget-conscious, a uPVC door would be best. As some of you have already installed motorized locks, I am hoping to get constructive advice from you because it is quite difficult to find information online.

Best regards,

Enrico

...the fingerprint sensor also works on the frame, sash, or panel.

@Robson

It's not just a gimmick, more of a convenient tool. We have a 10-year-old who often forgets or loses their key; for children, there's nothing better.

Additional cost around 1000 EUR...

I am familiar with the advantages and would definitely consider it if I had the money. However, the original post mentions "being budget-conscious," and such a gadget doesn’t fit that context.

P.S. if you want to get their attention, you need to use the full username @MundS

Our "door manufacturer" installed an automatic lock, eKey, KNX interface, reed switch, latch contact, and LED handle lighting directly into the door (I don't know the manufacturer right now). The all-in cost for the door was about 7000 EUR. We are very satisfied. The price/performance ratio is right.

Sorry

We will have an SVP lock (self-locking panic lock) installed on the entrance door, featuring an A-opener (motorized function), a fingerprint sensor, emergency power supply, and with genuine RC3 security rating!

The filling overlaps both sides of the door leaf, including a transom window.

On the outside, there is no cylinder opening and no handle — it couldn’t be simpler...

This is my version of a functional door...

A control system for day/night operation is not absolutely necessary for the electric lock. It locks automatically and is equipped with an anti-panic function. By the way, we use RFID for the unlocking mechanism. Professionally, I work with various authentication methods for such access control systems. To be honest, fingerprint recognition outdoors is something I really dislike.

@Robson
What does that have to do with anything? The question was not "can I afford a motorized lock?". Everyone has different priorities, and I think most people would allow themselves at least a bit of luxury.

@stevenprice

I meant the day and night operation differently.

Door technology is very complex; I always consider how the door will be used during the day and at night, and based on that I determine the necessary door technology.

Some clients specify certain features they want in the door technology, but when asked what these features should actually do, the answers can sometimes be quite amusing.

This is especially important in commercial or institutional buildings, particularly regarding access control and monitoring.
