ᐅ As of today, we are proud owners of a stove.

The stove installers set up the unit over two mornings. It’s great that it was finished before Christmas.

Open living room with white tiled stove in column design, piano on the left, rattan sofa, plants.

We placed a spark guard in front of the stove, of course. The baseboards will stay in place... the stove needs some clearance at the back for air circulation. The heat-retaining mass is not very large. The stove is more for creating a cozy atmosphere than for primary heating. However, it would be relatively easy to retrofit with fireclay bricks.

Unfortunately, the piano will probably have to be moved to another location.

What I first noticed today is that the room air becomes extremely dry. We started the fire with two small logs, and the humidity dropped to 37%... hmm... 🙄

37% is completely normal for this time of year.

A stove is one of the best investments in a new build with low temperatures. Heating systems are quite slow to respond, and you need a way to control your personal heating needs.

We love our stove 🙂. You probably do too.

A very nice stove. It suits you well.
Yes, it will dry out then. Opening a door to the outside for a while helps.
It’s the weekend now, enjoy it, don’t be too stingy with the firewood, otherwise the glass will get sooty.

If the air becomes too dry, simply place a bowl of water on the stove. Add a few drops of essential fragrance oil, and it will also smell great.

Well, of course, that’s because it’s relative humidity. It naturally decreases when the temperature rises, since warmer air can hold more moisture. However, the actual amount of water in the air remains the same.

And ventilating warm air out is actually rather counterproductive.
