Hello,
I am very interested in a Rheinhaus. The house is great, the price is right, but the only thing giving me headaches is that it uses night storage heaters, meaning it is heated by electricity.
There is a gas connection nearby!
I estimate the connection cost to be around 3,000€ (about $3,200). Can someone roughly tell me how much the whole thing would cost (so that the heating system works)? Of course, I know no exact figures can be given, but what ballpark figure can I expect? Maybe I could negotiate the price down by that amount!
EDIT: Or an alternative heating source, since I would have to do some conversion work anyway!?
Thank you

Thanks for your completely meaningless reply.
I’m sorry that I made a typo, and I’m sorry that, unlike you, I wasn’t able to attend a German school and had to learn everything on my own! Sorry that my German isn’t as perfect as yours! That’s not how you make friends in life!
Eye cancer… I’m not even laughing! Show some respect! I work just like you do and pay my taxes on time! Let’s see if you say things like that in private! You don’t need to apologize. Nobody is perfect!
But in your other thread, fellow members already pointed out the correct term* – after all, having the name of a river in a headline can be confusing and might discourage some from responding, even if they could answer your question.
*You should take that correction to heart 😉
At least I’m grateful for any correction when I don’t get something right 🙂
P.S. I won’t correct spelling because it’s not relevant, but if you want to use Google, it’s better to have the correct word pointed out to you at some point…
I definitely did not apologize to you. That was more ironic. I don’t apologize for something like that. If I make a typo at 7:18 a.m., writing “Rheinhaus” instead of “townhouse,” then I’m sorry for you if you respond here because of that. But maybe you’re just lonely and have nothing better to do! I’d like to see you trying to speak a different language abroad…
Are you serious right now? Please tell me it’s just a joke!?
Well, Google is smart enough to suggest the correct word to me right away, without “complaining” :-)
On the topic, thanks to the other person for the helpful answer and, of course, for being smart enough not to think about a river 😀

but if you ever want to use Google, it’s better to hear the correct word

toxicmolotof15 Oct 2014 17:53You want to buy a terraced house in a residential community by linking the thread topics here.
You will almost certainly not be allowed to simply dig up the front garden all the way to the street; you will need the approval of the homeowners’ association meeting for that.

I don't even want to reply. You're writing so aggressively!

ErikErdgas22 Dec 2014 16:56Hello,
The building expert explained it correctly. If you are interested in the house, you should request the most important documents, which include:
- Land register excerpt
- Declaration of division (in case of a condominium ownership)
- Floor plans, sections, elevations
- Construction specifications
- Thermal insulation certificate or energy saving ordinance certificate
- Documentation of any renovations carried out
Have these evaluated by a qualified expert and obtain purchase advice from them. In terms of cost, this is negligible compared to the purchase price, measured in thousandths.
Best regards, Erik
