Hello,
Does anyone have experience with the foundation and activation of ductile piles (energy piles)?

If so, I am interested in exchanging information.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Andreas

Isn’t that just a standard pile foundation using cast piles? What exactly is your question?

Thank you for your response. My question is as above: Do you have experience with the activation of ductile piles (energy piles)? I mean not just the foundation itself but also the additional use as an energy source (geothermal). This is not deep drilling.

No, I don’t. Not even in commercial construction, as it is quite specialized. Technically, it is feasible—a ground loop collector also works well, despite being installed close to the surface. However, every pile must be properly prepared and installed. I can’t imagine that the cost-benefit ratio is favorable for single-family houses.

I find it difficult to imagine that a single product could optimally fulfill such a dual function as both load-bearing foundation and probe for energy extraction at the same time.

I did some research online. There are even large general contractors that offer such services (regardless of the type of pile foundation). However, it seems uncommon in the single-family home sector (probably too expensive).
