Hello everyone, in our excitement we forgot about the foundation grounding. We were talking about the foundation grounding the whole time, but now the foundations are finished and the grounding is not installed!

There will be a slab under the garage, and under the slab of the house, there will be 10cm (4 inches) of XPS insulation.

What would you suggest we do?

Thank you very much for the quick response. I had also read through Mr. K.’s documents and commissioned him to prepare our expert report.

When he told me about the outdated DIN standard used by the “colleague” from Hildesheim, I was quite surprised. Learning that the person from Hildesheim had used an unapproved measuring device and that the documentation was also inadequate made us question his qualification.

We sent our expert report to the general contractor, who forwarded it to their own expert – but that expert remained uncooperative. What can you do with such a negative example of an expert?

I can only praise Mr. K. – despite the great distance, he helped us promptly and was appalled at how carelessly our general contractor is handling the matter.

With H. K, whom I know personally, you are in the best hands.

Dipol, we also feel very well taken care of and advised by Mr. K. It’s great that professionals like you exist...

But it’s also shocking what attitudes some general contractors have – during a meeting, the construction manager accidentally said, "with 2 out of 10 concrete slabs, that shows up."

As much as praise is appreciated, I now need to take a step back and put things into perspective.

Like H. K., I belong to the dwindling profession of radio and television technicians. Unlike him, however, I am not a certified expert approved by the courts, and I entered the field of foundation earthing and EMC lightning protection relatively late.

If the last examination seminar at the BBZ/Roofing School in Mayen hadn’t been canceled due to a lack of participants, I could have at least registered on the list of VDE-certified lightning protection specialists after passing the exam.

But even without the BBZ exam qualification, as a lightning protection-aware RFT system planner, I can be a thorn in the side of "professionals" who deliver substandard work that does not comply with standards.

This is noticeable in 2 out of 10 floor slabs

And even if it seems acceptable at first - it can become very dangerous after a few years.

The building's equipotential bonding is very important and must be done properly and professionally.

I also paid close attention to this and had an experienced electrician who knew what he was doing.

Best regards,
Thorsten

@Mods

I know the colleague "K." well enough and have quoted him by name so many times that I know he has no objections. So, I’m sharing the link to H. "K."'s technical articles now.

This statement proves that the faulty execution was not due to ignorance but intentional.

There is a saying that you are in God’s hands in court and on the high seas. If the statement can be proven in court by witness testimony, it presents a great opportunity for a specialist lawyer.
