ᐅ Floor Plan of a Narrow, Rectangular L-Shaped House on a Triangular Plot with an Oak Tree

Hello everyone!

We have purchased a triangular plot of land. As if that weren’t complicated enough, there is also a large oak tree that must be considered during the planning. In our initial considerations, it quickly became clear that the floor plan will have an L-shape.

Does anyone here have experience with this type of plot and a correspondingly shaped floor plan? What additional information is needed to get meaningful advice?

Best regards

If the plans actually exist, there is no reason at all not to provide them to the homeowners. Our architect made these available to us for our single-family house without us having to ask for them.

Hello, you are paying for it! So you definitely have the right to it.

He might be against you publishing it here (which I can understand), but you yourself should definitely receive it.

There is absolutely no objection. You pay a lot of money for the architect, and they will have the plans anyway.

Diagonal... the architect is working on your behalf, right? Then they should also hand over the plans to you. If not to you, then to whom?

I have a quick question on the side: We asked the architect for the “50er” plans for our records. He said it’s not common to hand these over to the homeowners with single-family houses, only for multi-family buildings and generally larger projects. That can’t be right, can it?
In our case, almost every trade received such a plan, and of course, we did too.

After the work was completed, we got these plans back from each trade.

Thank you very much for the answers!

One more question:

If you hire a structural engineer and do not specify a deadline for when the calculations must be completed, how long do you have to wait before you can cancel the contract?
