Hello everyone!
We have purchased a triangular plot of land. As if that weren’t complicated enough, there is also a large oak tree that must be considered during the planning. In our initial considerations, it quickly became clear that the floor plan will have an L-shape.
Does anyone here have experience with this type of plot and a correspondingly shaped floor plan? What additional information is needed to get meaningful advice?
Best regards

Man, man, man... now I’m already reading “dirty plot of land...”
I think the initially problematic topic has turned into a great project.
Sure, some things will still change, like the furnishing, for example. But it doesn’t matter: the rooms are usable and have a good size, and it’s going to be a beautiful house.
I wish you all the best with the construction—especially considering the slope and tree challenges.

Good luck finding a construction company willing to deviate from a standard rectangular floor plan.
Yes, and that is exactly our current problem! We are having great difficulty finding contractors. Even our architect is struggling! We primarily hired him for this reason. I’m starting to get more and more gray hairs...
Has anyone had experience with skilled trades platforms? Or are these mostly suitable for “smaller” projects or jobs?
No good experiences. We were looking for demolition work back then. You find many who want to gut and demolish the property, at least until the site visit. After that, it was over.
In my opinion, for standard work—preferably without mandatory certified supervision—you can find service providers through online platforms. The rest don’t need to compete thanks to the construction boom combined with staff shortages.
