Our kids are both in primary school, and at the moment we rarely have to call them in. The idea was more that they have their own space.

Hello OliverZ,

Overall, I like the floor plan quite a bit.

I would just suggest considering the following points:

- Dining area:

With a width of only 2.48 m (8 feet), it is quite narrow. If the table is occupied on both sides, it will be difficult to pass by. I would skip the partition wall and integrate the hallway into the living and dining area. This will give you much more space, not only visually. Then consider rotating the staircase so that instead of leading down to the basement, it leads up to the bedrooms within the living area.

- Cloakroom / WC:

I would swap these two rooms – I find a window in the WC much more important.

- Bedroom:

I agree with Jaydee’s opinion here. The master bedroom with dressing area and bathroom is definitely better suited under the roof. It offers much more privacy for you and your children. Just imagine when the kids are older and come home at night—they’d have to pass by your room first. If they want to shower, for example, your rest might be disturbed...

Best regards,

Dirk

Dirk, I think the idea of swapping the floors is good, I just don’t know how we can fit everything upstairs.
