Hello everyone!
As some users have requested before, I’m now starting a new thread with the current planning of our detached house, which is about to be finalized.
These are the preliminary drawings for the building permit / planning permission application, and I have one last chance to review them and point out any issues.
It still seems to me that there is less than 1.20m (4 feet) of space between the two wardrobes in the dressing room. Or am I seeing this wrong? Apparently, the rooms on the left and right were overlooked and not adjusted accordingly.
Two Velux ceiling spotlights are still planned to illuminate the upper floor hallway.
In the basement, on the right side in the upper room, a window similar to the one on the left basement side is an option.
We still haven’t decided on the T30 fire-rated door to the garage, even though it is shown in the plans. Most likely, for safety reasons and the limited use of the kitchen at the other end of the house, we will eventually forgo it.
User 11ant pointed out that the right window in child’s room 2 is suboptimally positioned. However, this could still be changed after submitting the building permit / planning permission application. Our architect thinks moving the window to the left would negatively affect the house’s exterior appearance. We’ll have to see about that.

I pinged the builder today to let him know he was missed here, and have since received a private reply. I will only quote his closing words accordingly:
The main point is that the list of defects is not ending; among other things, the connection points between the main contractor’s work and the self-managed trades are, let’s say, "problematic and loosely handled" :-(

Apart from this madness, I am doing well.

If he is reading: Best wishes from me as well.

Traumfaenger21 Nov 2018 23:03Today, I also let the "Räuber" know that he is missed here. He had visited us at the construction site, and I have also visited him at his site. To start with, and contrary to some assumptions here, he is a smart guy and also very pleasant on a personal level. This just shows how the anonymity of the internet in forums can sometimes lead to people being wrongly categorized.
He appreciated the support shown here, especially since things are currently going very badly for him on the construction site. The problem is not the subcontractors, but the preparatory work of the general contractor (GC) on which the subcontractors have to build. Some of them are refusing to do their work because they would be held liable themselves (for example, a completely crooked concrete staircase with very uneven step heights, crooked walls, etc.). We have already had plenty of trouble with our own build, but compared to Räuber’s situation, it’s all mild. You really feel sorry for him, as many things are going wrong and experts and lawyers are making good money from it. At the same time, he is currently under a lot of professional pressure, but he does not lose courage.
