Hello everyone,

We have been struggling for several days to figure out how to divide the basement into a children’s room, a bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a small bathroom with a shower. We are running out of ideas. Unfortunately, there is no more space available for this in the rest of the house. Do you have any helpful suggestions for a floor plan like this? The wall between Basement 1 and Basement 2 is load-bearing. We would appreciate any help and advice.
Basement floor plan: Boiler room, Basement 1, Basement 2; no basement under part of the house.

I assume the boiler room must stay as it is.
Is it possible to enlarge the windows?
Are there options to add more windows?

Exactly, the boiler room itself must stay, but the door from the basement to the boiler room can be bricked up. Adding more windows is not possible. However, the basement door can be converted into a window front. The size of the windows may still be adjusted slightly.

My first idea – quickly sketched as usual and without exact measurements.

We don’t even have an idea of the “rest of the house” yet. You just appear out of nowhere here at our garage, and we don’t know ANYTHING about your background on Melmac, Shumway!
On what basis are we supposed to come up with any saving ideas?

Well, maybe someone has been in a similar situation before.
The main bathroom, an open-plan kitchen and living area, and an office are on the first floor.
