Hello,
We are planning to build this house soon. Something still doesn’t feel quite right about the floor plan. An extra 50cm (20 inches) in width would be ideal, but we want to stay within budget. Does anyone have any suggestions for improvements?
House without roof overhang, brick facade, heat pump, photovoltaic system.
We are a family of four. Plot size 980m² (11,000 ft²), no basement, finished attic, plus a carport with a storage room and a garden shed are planned.

Thank you all.
Best regards,
Franzi

The basic layout works for us In principle, almost any standard house layout would work. Many even fit better.
Here, the offset hallway (or a shortened entrance of a standard house) creates poor flow, which then turns into bottlenecks with the split-level staircase.
The fireplace is placed incorrectly and inconveniently. Just try furnishing the living room with a family sofa for watching TV. The sofa would have to be placed very close to the wall, further restricting access. A living area is always problematic when the sofa has to be placed against the narrow wall and you have to look at the TV over a longer distance.

Are there any concrete suggestions? A new design. Reset and central storage.
Specific proposals should come from the professional architect, with whom communication will hopefully improve.
